Local Attractions Nubeena is central to the Coal Mines Historic Site at Saltwater River. The sandstone remains of the convict buildings, underground cells and mine workings form an interesting foreground to the panoramic views of Norfolk Bay. Adjoining the coal mines is the Lime Bay Nature Reserve, covering an area of 1524 hectares. The Tassal fish farm with its enormous fish pens containing the famous Atlantic Salmon is situated in Parsons Bay and just past this area is the rugged surf of Roaring Beach. |
